Thanks for including this important example George. It is the story of many congregations, and the future story of more. And in many cases it need not be so.

Having just re-read Tempered Resilience. Expect sabotage from within. People say they want to change and grow but when the "inconvenience factor" becomes apparent, things get stopped.

This is a sad story George, especially since they appeared to be investing in the process of renewal. It causes me to ask myself in what ways I may be a barrier. My prayer is that the congregation that has taken possession of the larger building will be blessed with vision and unity.

It is sad. Several good attempts were made to transition and change this congregation. They initial contact with me may have been later coming than it should have been. They needed outside assistance earlier.
